Upcoming Sessions:
Saturday September 10, 2022 – 13:00-15:00 – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (10518 County Road 600 N) in Brownsburg. That is 56th Street about 1/2 mile west of Raceway in Brownsburg. The building is on the north side of the road.
You MUST apply for and receive your FRN from the FCC prior to arriving at the test site. The Laurel VEC no longer accepts social security numbers, something that has been long practiced by The Naptown Amateur Group. To receive an FRN number, please click the following link:
No test will be administered to anyone without an FRN. Due to the risks and liability of identify theft associated with a social security number, The Naptown Amateur Group and the Laurel VEC have made the decision to only work with FRN’s. We appreciate your understanding in this sensitive matter.
You must bring the following items to the testing session in order for us to be able to serve you:
- A photo ID. Children without photo IDs may be tested providing that they can prove their identity to the satisfaction of the LARC VEC Team Leader.
- A copy or original version of your current, signed, amateur radio operator’s license. (If you are currently licensed.)
- The original and a copy of any document on which you will be relying to prove element credit. These documents may include:
- A Technician license (Original and/or a photocopy) granted prior to March 21, 1987 Element Credit: Element 3.
- An expired and subsequently cancelled General class license. Element credit: Element 3.
- An expired and subsequently cancelled Advanced class license. Element credit: Element 3.
- An expired and subsequently cancelled Amateur Extra class license. Element credit: Elements 3 and 4.
- A letter from the FCC confirming that you previously held a specific class of license for which you will be given credit for the Element 3 exams.
- An unexpired Certificate of Successful Completion of Exam (CSCE) indicating the credit(s) earned
- A positive attitude and some patience. The folks administering the exams are dedicated volunteers. They will do their best to get you tested, your exam graded, inform you of the results, and if applicable, prepare and present to you a certificate stating you have earned a license or an upgrade as quickly as possible.
If you would like to participate in this testing session, please fill out the form below so that we can prepare your packet ahead of your arrival. Priority will be given to pre-registered students. Walk-ins are welcome, but maybe result in longer that normal wait time due to the need to manually enter the student into the system.
